Today we celebrated one of our favorite academic traditions—the Bremen City Schools District-Wide Spelling Bee—and what an outstanding morning it was.
Ten remarkable students took the stage, navigating words that demanded precision, confidence, and composure. After an intense eleven rounds, sixth-grader Scout Rotger emerged victorious by correctly spelling the final word, “courier.” Congratulations to Scout on an exceptional performance.
We are equally proud of all of our competitors:
Haevyn Gipson (4th), Benjamin Le (4th), Caleb Demby (5th), Jagger Veitch (5th), Scout Rotger (6th), Vivian Warren (6th), Wyatt Ladd (7th), Emmett Strong (7th), Sam Bradley (8th), and Emma Hall (8th).
Along the way, even our spectacular spellers were challenged by words like imitation, receptionist, commotion, suspicious, heron, hypnosis, winsome, cavorting, and prestigious—and yes, a few real curveballs such as equestrian and monsieur made the competition even more exciting.
A sincere thank-you to the coordinating staff and administrators from Bremen Academy and Bremen Middle School for hosting a well-run, engaging event that showcased student excellence and academic pride.
We are incredibly proud of these students for their courage, preparation, and sportsmanship—and grateful for the educators who make opportunities like this possible.

Thank You, Bremen – ESPLOST VII Passes with Overwhelming Support
Dear Bremen Community,
On behalf of the Bremen City Board of Education and Bremen City Schools, we extend our deepest gratitude to you (our citizens, families, and supporters) for your overwhelming support of ESPLST VII.
With over 71% of Bremen voters voting YES to continue this important investment in our schools, you have once again affirmed your trust and confidence in our shared mission to provide the very best for our students.
Since 1997, residents of Bremen and Haralson County have consistently supported the Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (ESPLOST), which has enabled us to maintain, improve, and expand school facilities through a one-cent sales tax paid by everyone who shops in our community, rather than through increased property taxes.
Your continued commitment ensures that our district can plan and complete capital improvements responsibly, providing our students and teachers with the necessary resources to thrive. From safe, well-maintained facilities, safety equipment, upgraded buses and technology, HVAC upgrades in gymnasiums, and future facility planning at JES, we are committed to providing the students in Bremen City Schools with the opportunities you want for them and that they deserve.
We take this responsibility seriously. Our Board of Education remains committed to sensible financial stewardship, transparent planning, and fulfilling the promises made to you, our community.
Thank you, Bremen, for believing in us and standing beside your schools. Together, we are shaping a bright future for every student in Bremen.
With heartfelt appreciation and Blue Devil pride,
Bremen Board of Education and the
Bremen City Schools’ Superintendent
