Weight Training

 

Grading Policy:

 

1.  50% - Class Participation: answering verbal questions and demonstrating correct techniques for different lifts.

2.  25% - Skill Test

3.  25% - Written Test

 

Objectives:

 

1.  Develop knowledge of the 10 Basic Muscle Groups

2.  Develop knowledge of the lifts associated wit a particular group of muscles

3.  Demonstrate correct techniques with each lift

4.  Improve cardiovascular flexibility through different forms of running

6.  Improve hand, eye and foot coordination through rope jumping.

7.  Develop a personal weight-training program.

8.  Recognize the importance of safety through spotting techniques.

 

Students will set individual goals they would like to reach by the end of the semester:

These goals should realistic but challenging.

 

Because of the possibility of an individual being injured, each student will be expected to use correct spotting techniques, safety collars, and no horseplay will be tolerated. There will be no jewelry worn while in the weight room.

 

Writing a report, 3 to 5 pages, on a subject of my choosing may make up all excused absences.
