BMS & 4^th/5^th Grade Academy Media Policy for Students

· The Media Center is here for your use.  Please feel free to make suggestions of books, AR quizzes, or magazines you would like for us to purchase.

· Books- 2 week checkout- You may check out two books at a time (see media specialist if there is a need for more books or materials).

· Fine- 10 cents per day if late- excludes weekends and holidays.  The fine stops when the book is returned.  Be sure to tell a media staff member if you were out sick the day the book is due. If you return it the first day you return to school, you will not be fined late charges.

· Book Barcodes- $5.00 charge for damaged or missing barcodes.

· Magazines- 3 day check-out. Overdues for magazines are 10 cents per day. Lost magazines must be paid for.

· No food or drinks in the Media Center.

· Please place chairs back under the table as you leave and dispose of trash.

· Copies from the copy machine or printer are 10 cents per page for black and white and 20 cents per page for color.

· Internet Usage Policy:

o  An Internet Usage Agreement must be signed and on file in the office.

o Student must sign in at circulation desk

o Student must have a written note from your teacher stating purpose for Internet use

o Approved and appropriate websites only

o No personal student e-mail or webpage use allowed
